Agricola Red Triangle and Timehri United will contest the final of the East Bank Demerara League Football Championship following comfortable semifinal wins on Saturday evening at the National Training Centre, Providence.
Agricola grounded Swan 5-2. Jaden Paul recorded the only conversion of the first half to hand Agricola the early advantage in the 12th minute. Upon the resumption, Agricola essentially sealed the result as they recorded four goals in the space of nine minutes.
Calvin Bowlin doubled their lead as he found the back of the net in the 57th minute. Jonathan Andries then got into the scoring act in the 60th minute to further increase their advantage. Andries would then complete his double four minutes later as the score ballooned to 4-0. Seon Grant Jr. then completed the blitz in the 66th minute.
Swan would eventually record consolation goals in the 71st and 77th minutes via Ben Williams. Similarly, Timehri brushed aside Soesdyke 4-1. Falling behind to a Terrence Glasgow strike in the first minute, Timehri would record four unanswered goals to secure the result.
Tyrone Burnette would equalise in the 40th minute to ensure the teams entered the halftime interval locked at 1-1. Upon the resumption, Antoine Denny smashed a hat-trick to settle the outcome. Denny opened his account in the 47th minute to push Timehri into the lead.
Denny then sealed his brace in the 69th minute as Timehri doubled their advantage at 3-1. The come-from-behind victory was then sealed in the 84th minute as Denny completed his hat-trick.
