A man was yesterday granted bail in the sum of $35,000 after he allegedly assaulted a police officer at the East La Penitence police station.
Nicholas Escott appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the George-town Magistrate’s Court, where the charges were read to him.
It was alleged that on September 30, 2024, while at the East La Penitence police station, he assaulted a peace officer and made use of threatening language towards Dexter Thomas. He pleaded not guilty to both charges. He was then released on bail at $10,000 for the threatening language charge and $25,000 for the assault charge. The matter was adjourned to November 11, 2024.
