Two women yesterday appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore charged with threatening behaviour and wounding committed against each other and were granted bail after denying the charges.
Bibi Richards and Unice Gordon were charged following an incident that occurred on September 25th at Stevedore Housing Scheme.
The 21-year-old Richards faced three charges, including unlawful wounding. It was alleged that she unlawfully wounded Gordon, damaged a window valued at $18,000, and threw missiles that annoyed Gordon. Richards pleaded guilty to the unlawful wounding charge and guilty with explanation regarding the missile-throwing charge.
Gordon, on the other hand, faced two charges for allegedly throwing missiles at Richards and using threatening behaviour. She pleaded not guilty to both charges.
The prosecution informed the magistrate that the defendants are neighbours and that the altercation arose from a disagreement. They did not object to bail being granted.
Magistrate Azore set bail for Richards at $10,000 for the missile-throwing charge, $25,000 for unlawful wounding, and $20,000 for the damage to property charge. Gordon was granted bail of $10,000 for each of her charges, totaling $20,000. The case has been adjourned until October 21, 2024.
