Damien Bissoon, also known as ‘Brother’, appeared before Justice Peter Hugh at the High Court in Demerara for his trial regarding the March 2018 murder of Taj Anthony Jarvis.
The trial saw testimony from witness, Eon Men-tore, who recounted the events leading up to Jarvis’ death.
Mentore testified that the confrontation began when Bissoon approached Jarvis, demanding repayment of a debt. Jarvis denied owing any money, which led to a physical altercation. Mentore des-cribed hearing Jarvis cry out before collapsing to the ground. Upon returning with help, Mentore noticed blood and what appeared to be a stab wound to Jarvis’ chest. He also testified that Bissoon repeatedly kicked Jarvis after he had fallen.
