George Scott appeared last month before Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court on charges of fraudulent conversion.

The charges alleg-ed that in July 2023, at Front Circle, East Ruimveldt, Scott was entrusted by Rupert Henry with several items, including, an engine valued at $750,000, a 400-foot hose valued at $35,000 and other items totalling $2.75 million. Scott is accused of converting these items to his own use.

Scott pleaded not guilty to the charge. The prosecution objected to bail citing the significant value of the items involved and the severity of the charge. However, Henry, the complainant, was not present in court. Taking into account that Scott appeared as required, Magistrate McGusty granted bail in the sum of $200,000.
