Plaisance vending spots handed over

In keeping with a commitment to the vendors of the Plaisance railway embankment, Minister of Public Works, Juan Edghill, along with a team from the Ministry and representatives from the NDC, yesterday handed over 50 vending spots on the newly constructed tarmac. An additional 19 spots remain vacant and will be handed over by the NDC to more vendors as time progresses, a release from the Ministry of Public Works said. This initiative fulfills a promise made by Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo to support the smooth progress of the ongoing East Coast Demerara Public Road widening and improvement project while ensuring the livelihoods of local vendors are protected.
