– winner’s purse set at US $5000
The fifth edition of the KFC Goodwill International School Football was officially launched yesterday at the Cara Lodge Hotel in Georgetown, with teams from three Caribbean nations, Trinidad and Tobago, Jamaica, and Suriname, scheduled to land in Guyana in December.
Reigning champions of the tourney, Clarendon College of Jamaica, returns to the competition as does last year’s runners-up, St. Benedict’s College from Trinidad and Tobago.
At the launch, Troy Mendonca, Co-Director of the Petra Organisation, noted that it being the fifth edition of the tournament sends a strong signal that it is sustainable and now a staple in the school’s football season in Guyana.
