The family of a 13-year-old student who attends the Bartica Secondary School is seeking the intervention of the relevant authorities into fighting and bullying incidents that have been ongoing.
According to the video seen by this newspaper, the 13-year-old child who was dressed in her uniform, was attacked by several female students. A cousin stated on social media that the girls who attacked the 13-year-old are between ages 15 and 16.
The 13-year-old was dragged across the road and hit several times about her body. A male student intervened and attempted to stop the fight and he too was tossed aside. He however managed to assist and held on to one girl while a woman prevented the others from hitting the 13-year-old.
The cousin disclosed that the 13-year-old is now in a state of depression. The family has extended a call for the students who are tormenting her to be expelled from the school.
