A 22-year-old fisherman was fatally stabbed by his ex-brother-in-law following a dispute stemming from an ongoing family conflict.

The victim, identified as Michael Jackson, also known as ‘Junior,’ was stabbed on Thursday night by a 27-year-old, also a fisherman. The incident occurred sometime around 9:00 pm at Lot 219, Fourth Street, No. 76 Housing Scheme, Upper Corentyne, Berbice.

The stabbing is believed to be the result of a longstanding grievance between the two men according to the victim’s sister, Maria Jackson, who spoke with the Sunday Stabroek. She related that tensions had escalated in the days leading up to the stabbing, following an argument over Adams’ children.
