Pee Wee U-11 Boy’s Football
Defending champion St. Pius, Marian Academy, Santa Rosa, West Ruimveldt, and Belladrum earned berths to the quarterfinal round following contrasting wins in the round of 16 when the Courts Pee Wee U-11 Boy’s Football Championship continued yesterday.
Staged at the Ministry of Education ground on Carifesta Avenue, St. Pius bested School of the Nations 2-0. Emanuel Forte and Aleem Younge scored in the 30th and 36th minutes, respectively.
Likewise, Santa Rosa downed St. Gabriel’s 2-0. Taz La Rose and Deon Henry netted in the 14th and 39th minutes apiece.
Meanwhile, Marian Academy overcame Winfer Gardens 2-1. Chase Hodge and Cristiano La Rose scored in the 10th and 17th minutes, respectively. For the loser, Omari St. Hill netted in the 37th minute.
On the other hand, Belladrum defeated Batavia 3-1. Jadon Sampson tallied a hat-trick in the fourth, 24th, and 39th minutes. On target in the loss was Randy Lyte in the 21st minute.
Also, West Ruimveldt overcame Tapakuma Lake 2-1 on penalty kicks after regulation time ended 3-3. Prior to the conclusion, Seon Horsham bagged a second half hat-trick in the 33rd, 37th, and 40th minutes to level proceedings, after Tapakuma had taken the lead following a brace from Alexio Jacobus [second and eighth minutes] and a Raphael Fredericks 30th minute conversion. In other results, St. John the Baptist defeated North Georgetown 2-0, led by conversions from Kriston Chandler and Kareem Welcome in the 19th and 36th minutes, respectively, while Rosignol thrashed the Georgetown International Academy 4-0.
Jeremiah McDonald registered a double in the fifth and 24th minutes, while Timothy Rouse and Abdul Kadir scored in the 19th and 40th minutes, respectively. Enterprise also advanced to the round of eight following a 2-1 win over Stella Marris. Dontay Kowlessar and Shine Arthur found the back of the net in the 14th and 19th minutes, respectively. For the loser, Clyde Jacobs scored in the sixth minute.
