Georgetown Football League
A power failure at the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) National Training Centre (NTC) in Providence forced the abandonment of the Riddim Squad and Eastveldt encounter in the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League on Saturday evening.
The incident occurred prior to the start of the second half, as the entire venue was blanketed in darkness after all the towers lost power. Attempts were made to remedy the situation, but unfortunately the issue was not resolved, which forced the officials to abandon the match. It was further disclosed that the match will be replayed at a later date. Riddim Squad was leading 1-0 at the time of the stoppage via a Timothy Thomas striker in the 37th minute.
