Dear Editor,
It is or should be Guyana’s offering to the ecology world – the Iwokrama Rainforest Project set up by the Commonwealth and the Government in the middle of the Guyana rainforest in 1996? But is Iwokrama starting to get stale and breach governance issues? A new chair-from Canada-has been appointed with his/her name yet to be made public. More worrying is a hiatus in board membership. Can a proper board of management soon be constituted to allow Iwokrama to fully develop and exploit this Guyanese/Commonwealth and world brand better? Watch this space.
Sincerely,
John ‘Bill Cotton/Reform’ Mair
