CONCACAF President and FIFA Vice-President Victor Montagliani is slated to arrive on local shores tomorrow for a three-day visit, with the primary objective of strengthening football development across the Caribbean.
This was disclosed by a press release from the Guyana Football Federation (GFF). According to the correspondence, the official visit will occur from October 17th-19th and will feature several engagements with government officials and other relevant stakeholders.
The release stated, “Montagliani’s visit will include a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of the Blue Water Shipping Stadium, a critical development in Guyana’s football infrastructure.
The new facility is expected to significantly boost local and regional football activities, providing enhanced opportunities for the sport’s growth.
As part of his visit, Montagliani will also meet with Guyana’s President Irfaan Ali and Minister of Sports Charles Ramson in a formal engagement aimed at discussing football’s role in national development, particularly it’s potential to foster youth engagement and community building.”
Montagliani’s visit will also coincide with the official launch of GFF’s National Girl’s U-13 Secondary School Football Championship, which is geared towards encouraging greater participation of females in the discipline.
