Heavyweights North East La Penitence, Back Circle A, Gold is Money, and Bent Street A secured opening wins while Sparta Boss was held to stalemate in the ‘Champion of Champions’ Futsal tournament on Tuesday night at the National Gymnasium, Mandela Avenue.
North East La Penitence continued their upward trajectory in the format with a 4-0 drubbing of Street Vybz. Kelvin Moore led the rout with a double in the eighth and 10th minutes, while Lennox Cort and Samuel Hunte added conversions in the fifth and 18th minutes, respectively.
In similar fashion, Back Circle A dismissed Bent Street B 4-1. Simeon Moore led the come-from-behind win with a brace in the 15th and 18th minutes, with Amos Ramsay and Bevney Marks scoring in the 14th and 16th minutes, respectively. On target in the loss was Daniel Ross in the third minute.
