Cops seeking two suspects in Panda Supermarket armed robbery

Police yesterday said they are seeking the public’s assistance in identifying two men who were involved in robbery under arms committed on Zhou Jiabin, 45, a businessman of Westminster, West Bank Demerara.

According to the police, the robbery was committed by two unidentifiable men, both armed with guns, on September 26th at about 20:12 hrs at the lower flat of Panda Supermarket in Westminster.

The businessman was robbed of two cell phones valued at $264,000 and $500,000 in cash.

Investigation has so far revealed that on the day in question, the victim was at the cash register in the lower flat of the supermarket when he noticed two men walk in. The victim told officers that one of the suspects jumped over the counter, pointed a firearm at him, and removed the cash from the cash register.

The businessman was also beaten with the firearm and relieved of the two phones from his pants pocket. The suspects then made their escape on a red and black electric scooter, the police said.
