Dear Editor,
Many Guyanese continue to struggle with poverty, relying heavily on support from family members abroad in the form of barrels filled with essential items. As I find myself at the shipping depot picking up a barrel today, I’m struck by the overwhelming number of people here doing the same thing. It raises the question: Will there ever come a time when Guyanese will no longer need to depend on these barrels from abroad?
Sincerely,
Anthony Pantlitz
