Courts U-11 Pee Wee Football
The Courts U-11 Pee Wee Football competition is firmly in the business phase of the campaign, with four exciting quarterfinals slated to be played today at the Ministry of Education Ground on Carifesta Avenue.
The eight teams that remain have all proven themselves and will all be heading into their respective matches brimming with confidence.
Opening proceedings today at 13:00hrs will be Region #7 outfit, St John the Baptist, who will face Berbicians, Belladrum.
Another Berbice side in the form of Rosignol will come up against the defending champions, St. Pius, in the second match of the day at 14:00hrs. The latter will be looking to book progression as they seek to retain the trophy they won last year.
On the other hand, Marian Academy, who has been improving their game in recent years, will come up against tough opposition, Enterprise, in the penultimate match of the day at 15:00hrs.
Fittingly, two exciting teams will collide in the curtain closer as West Ruimveldt will face Santa Rosa at 16:00hrs. In their maiden outing of the Pee Wee format, Santa Rosa has impressed, having gone undefeated in the group stage of the competition and booking progression to this point in relative comfort.
West Ruimveldt, who flattered to deceive last year, will be looking to go one better as well, and the encounter serves up for a hugely entertaining match that is sure to keep the crowd locked in.
