By Marcelle Thomas Even as Guyanese-American developer Kris Persaud of Tri-Star Investments forges ahead with development of its shorebase at Versailles, West Bank Demerara (WBD), the company has entered into a long-term lease agreement with the National Industrial and Commercial Investments Limited (NICIL) for nearly 100 acres of more land in other areas, distances away but also on the WBD.

The police are still on the hunt for Okeemo Arak Brummell of Bel Air Springs who is accused of being among three men posing as members of the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU) and abducted an Aurora Gold Mining Inc employee from the Giftland Mall, Turkeyen, and took him to his home where he was forced to hand over $9.5 million.

Region Nine village gets new $23M potable water supply system

The government’s plan to supply potable water to all hinterland communities remains on track as the Minister within the Ministry of Housing & Water, Susan Rodrigues, accompanied by Regional Chairman, Brian Allicock; Guyana Water Inc (GWI) Hinterland Service Director, Ramchand Jailall, and other technical staff, officially commissioned a $23 million water supply system in Quiko Village, located in South-Central Rupununi, Region Nine, a release from the ministry stated on Friday.

Dear Editor, Reference a letter from Mr. Vishnu Bisram published in the newspaper 17th October 2024 captioned “Announce that the 1980 constitution was born out of fraud thus making it illegal” apparently it was in reference to an editorial by SN “Ramkarran and CRC” (Sep 22)  which was also in reference to an earlier letter from Ralph Ramkarran.
