Leondro Antonio Torres, a 30-year-old resident of Bartica, was fined $200,000 on Friday when he appeared before Magistrate Teriq Mohamed in the Bartica Magistrate’s Court, charged with driving under the influence of alcohol.
Torres pleaded guilty to operating a motor vehicle while his breath alcohol level exceeded the legal limit.
If Torres is unable to pay the $200,000, the alternative is serving three months in prison.
