The police are still on the hunt for Okeemo Arak Brummell of Bel Air Springs who is accused of being among three men posing as members of the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU) and abducted an Aurora Gold Mining Inc employee from the Giftland Mall, Turkeyen, and took him to his home where he was forced to hand over $9.5 million.
Brummell, 29, was identified by CCTV cameras as one of the men who abducted Fiedtkou on October 10.
Kevin Fiedtkou, a 31-year-old Operations Supervisor attached to Aurora Gold Mining Inc, yesterday told the Stabroek News that on Thursday the police told him that they are still searching for Brummell. Regarding the identification of other two men, Fiedtkou related that so far, he was told by the police that they have enhance the CCTV video to see if they can recognise the two men. He surmised that they likely have been unable to do so since he has not received a call from them on the matter. However, he expressed confidence that the police will do their job. “Let them [police] do their job so by next week they can find someone.”
