Cornelia Ida (CI), Leonora, and Canal #2 recorded comfortable victories when the West Demerara Cricket Association sanctioned GH Renovations T20 Championship continued.

CI thrashed the West Demerara Legends by six wickets. Batting first, the West Demerara Legends scored 164/4 in their allocation. Troy Benn led the way with 46 [7x4s, 1×6], while Captain Jitendra Kishour supported with an unbeaten 39 [4x4s], and Sultan Ali added 38 [2x4s, 4x6s].

In reply, CI successfully overhauled the target, finishing on 165/4 in 19 overs. Ajita Persaud scored an undefeated 40 [1×4, 1×6], while Joshua Ferrell chipped in with 38 [4x4s, 2x6s]. Adding an unbeaten 23 [2x4s, 1×6] was Avishkar Ramgobin.

Identically, Leonora defeated La Grange by six wickets. Batting first, La Grange was dismissed for 132 in 16 overs. Avinash Bhairo top scored with an unbeaten 25 [3x4s, 1×6], while Pameshwar Persaud chipped in with 18 runs [2x4s].

Ilyaas Hamid was the pick of the bowlers with 3-7 in two overs, while Marlon Basdeo supported with 3-33 in three overs, and Shazim Ali snared 2-22. In response, Nicholas Shivsankar led the chase with 41 [4x4s, 2x6s], with Ali the next best scorer with 25. Saif Persaud was the pick of the bowlers with 2-32.

On the other hand, Canal #2 defeated New Wales by 24 runs. Batting first, Canal #2 ended on 136/8 upon the completion of their allotment. Vishwanauth Jadunauth, Chabiraj Ramcharran, and Royal Melville scored 26, 23, and 21 runs, respectively.

Daniel Robert led the bowling effort with 2-9, while Kevin Lindo and Ricky Hinds tallied 2-17 and 2-22, respectively. New Wales, in response, were then bundled out for 112 in 17.2 overs. Kimron Robert top scored with 42, while Randy Yenkana was the next best scorer with 15 runs.

Parmanand Ragnauth was the pick of the bowlers with 4-12 in 3.3 overs, while Navindra Ragnauth chipped in with 4-44.

Meanwhile, the West Coast Warriors bested Belle Vue by two wickets. Belle Vue was dismissed for 128 in 19.5 overs after taking the first strike. Ryan Seecharran top scored with 53 runs [7x4s], while Amar Dhaniram chipped in with 21 runs [2x6s]. Vinod Kumar was the primary threat with the ball, with figures of 4-24 in four overs, while Anil Sookdeo registered 2-14.

In response, the West Coast Warriors battled to 129/8 in 13.4 overs. Adrian Hinds led the way with 52 [2x4s, 7x6s], with Vishal Jaigobin and Lallbachan adding 26 [4x4s, 1×6] and 17 runs, respectively. Robin Seecharran was the pick of the bowlers with figures of 4-14.

Also, Goed Fortuin defeated VNS by three wickets. VNS scored 128/6 in reduced 18 over contest, as Leoryan Ramlakhan and Mohan Chaitram scored 38 [4x4s, 2x6s] and 37 [5x4s, 1×6] respectively. Supporting with 17 runs was Bernard Lewis.

Deo Singh snared 3-18 for Goed Fortuin. In response, Goed Fortuin ended on 132/7 in 17 overs, as Aaron Shivpersaud smashed his way to 63 [3x4s, 4x6s].

The event continues today with a doubleheader at the Canal #2 venue. At 9:30am, New Wales will oppose the Royal Strikers, while Leonora will oppose the hosts at 1:30pm.
