‘Critic’, alleged combatant charged, granted bail over Kitty fight

Two men were yesterday placed on a total of $175,000 bail, when they appeared before Magistrate Fabayo Azore at the Georgetown Magistrates Court, charged with unlawful wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm.

Brian Persaud, an electrician from Berbice, and Mikhail Rodrigues, also known as “Guyanese Critic,” reportedly wounded each other during an altercation outside the Montra Restaurant and Lounge at Lamaha and Pike streets, Kitty on September 30, 2024.

Both Persaud and Rodrigues pleaded not guilty to the charges. Persaud was granted bail in the sum of $75,000, while Rodrigues was placed on $100,000 bail.

Persaud was represented by attorney Damien DaSilva, while attorneys Bernard DaSilva and Sanjeev Datadin represented Rodrigues. The case has been adjourned to October 28, 2024.
