Dear Editor,
The Government truly deserves to be commended for its decision to remove university fees from January 2025, in keeping with the PPP/C manifesto promise and also as is mandated by Guyana’s Constitution. However, what are the safeguards to ensure that the educational-and-skills investment in our young people will result in applicable human capital for Guyana’s future; and not for the benefit of other countries where better opportunities seem to exist?
