Guyana wins Overall Championship, as Campbell, Sinclair impress

Emmerson Campbell triumphed in the Senior Men’s Physique category, storming to the gold medal and finally securing his Pro Card accolade as Guyana clinched the overall title following the conclusion of the Central America & Caribbean (CAC) Bodybuilding & Fitness Championships Sunday night at the National Cultural Centre.

This was disclosed by a press release from the Guyana Bodybuilding & Fitness Federation.

Campbell, who entered the event as the defending divisional champion, sliced through his competition in front of a sizable but vocal viewership to secure the win and the coveted Pro Card accolade, which had eluded him for six years.

In similar fashion, Julio Sinclair also stormed to a gold medal finish after besting all comers in the Men’s Bodybuilding O-90Kg division.

Similarly, Guyana’s Anthony Bayley won the U-23 Men’s Physique title, while compatriot Joel Caldeira captured the Men’s Bodybuilding U-23 crown.

Noteworthy performances were also produced by the likes of Ana Anderico, Remalton Siland, Melitha Fernandes, Delrae McLean, Kadeem Bowen, Christina Ramsammy, Angelica Barroncas, Orlanzo Valenzuela, Jamal Pollydore, Joshua Alexander, Rawle Greene, and Christine Matos De Brito.

The aforesaid results propelled Guyana to the overall crown, as Barbados and El Salvador finished in second and third, respectively.

Meanwhile, Misaelis Pena of the Dominican Republic won the Overall Bikini Fitness crown, while the Men’s Physique title was won by Bukkiah Providence of Barbados, and Kayla Latayna of Antigua and Barbuda won the Overall Wellness Fitness title. Suriname’s Anthony Nekrui claimed the Overall Men’s Bodybuilding crown.

“Some of the other individual winners were Mexico’s Lourdes Maza Campos; Antigua & Barbuda Tiffany Gordon; Costa Rica Milixa Millon; El Salvador Melvin Rivera; Trinidad & Tobago Kriston Copilah; Barbados Trudi Bovell; El Salvador Edgar Pineda; Barbados Sanaj Jeffrey; Barbados Curtis Kirby; Jamaica Rayon Henry; Jamaica Sean Taylor; Antigua & Barbuda Tony Phillip; Barbados Janille Butcher; Suriname Gajus Haakat; Antigua & Barbuda Travon Giddings; Nicaragua Maxwell Vallejos; Barbados Danielle Holder; Barbados Tyrell Forde; Barbados Leanna Carter; and El Salvador Amalia Araniva,” the release stated.
