In the court High Court denies application by Brutus to accompany wife to US for medical attention: Justice Gino Persaud last Friday refused an application by embattled Assistant Police Commissioner Calvin Brutus and his pregnant wife Adonika Aulder, made by their Attorney Earl Daniels for Brutus to accompany Aulder to the US for medical attention in view of revelations that there are 240 charges pending against him for money laundering and other serious financial crimes.

Contract signed for $108m early childhood development centre at Diamond

On Monday, a contract valued at  $𝟏𝟎𝟖,𝟖𝟐𝟓,𝟎𝟖𝟏 was signed between the Government of Guyana through the Basic Needs Trust Fund (BNTF) and 𝐁𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐬 𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐆𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐬 & 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 to construct the 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐝 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐲 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐝𝐡𝐨𝐨𝐝 𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐑𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐍𝐨.

Dear Editor, Guyana is now an established oil and gas producing country but there remains no system in place that will manage the influx of people, with different cultures and backgrounds from all over the world, and to develop infrastructure and other supporting services to cater for the demands of the rising numbers.

17 GDF ranks complete Grade 3 Medical Assistant Course

Seventeen Guyana Defence Force (GDF) ranks graduated recently after successfully completing the Force’s Grade Three Medical Assistant Course, essentially equipping them with the knowledge and skills necessary to function efficiently and effectively as a Grade 3 Medical Assistant when deployed with a sub-unit or attached to a Base Medical Centre of the GDF.
