According to the agreed statement of facts, Abrahams and Ault were acquainted. On March 25, 2020, Abrahams and several others were drinking alcohol at a friend’s workshop when Ault joined them. Shortly after his arrival, Ault became involved in an argument with another individual. Abrahams intervened, telling Ault, “What happen to you? You come and reach we and we deh pon we own itation.”
Abrahams then entered the workshop to retrieve a spanner to fix his motorcycle. As he was exiting, there was a confrontation between him and Ault. In the heat of the moment, Abrahams struck Ault twice with the spanner—once to the side of his head and once to his chest. Ault collapsed and Abrahams fled the scene.
Ault was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the Lethem Hospital. A post-mortem examination conducted on March 26, 2020, determined the cause of death as cerebral haemorrhage due to blunt trauma to the head.
Abrahams is scheduled to return to court on November 14, 2024, for sentencing.
