Potaro and St. John the Baptist recorded impressive victories when the inaugural edition of the Bartica Inter-Primary League continued at the Community Centre ground.
Potaro dismantled Iteballi 3-0. The trio of Kendrick LaRose, Micaiah Hart, and Aiden Williams scored one goal apiece. In their second fixture, Potaro edged Falmouth 1-0. LaRose recorded the only conversion of the contest.
Meanwhile, St. John the Baptist dismissed Batavia 3-1. Kriston Chandler recorded a hat-trick. For the loser, Klenon Ferreira scored.
Also, Agatash defeated St. Anthony’s 3-1. Siblings Jake and Justin Calvan scored one goal each alongside a Deon Tracey conversion. On target in the loss was Aden Charles. Two Miles squeaked past St. Anthony’s 2-1 following a brace from Joshua Hendricks.
Scoring for the loser was Aden Charles. On the other hand, Two Miles and Holy Name played to a 1-1 affair. Joshua Hendricks scored for Two Miles, while Jeremiah O’Selmo netted for Holy Name.
The tournament continues at the same venue with another round of matches on Wednesday, October 2nd. According to an initial correspondence from the Department of Education, who are the coordinators of the championship, the event features 11 teams from the Bartica and Lower Mazaruni areas.
