Biker dies after slamming into pole at Mainstay

An 18-year-old died after losing control of his motorcycle and crashing into a utility pole in Region Two.

He has been identified as Uwayne Freeman of Mainstay Lake, Essequibo Coast, Region Two.

The incident occurred on Tuesday at about 10.20 hours on the Mainstay Access Road, Essequibo Coast, and involved a motorcycle, CN 8791, ridden by Freeman, with pillion rider, Alexander Gomes, a miner, also  of Mainstay Lake.

Investigations revealed that Freeman was proceeding south on the Mainstay access road at a fast rate when he lost control of his motorcycle and crashed into an utility pole at the side of the road.
