Physical Education is not on the Anna Regina Multilateral School’s curriculum

Dear Editor,

Why doesn’t Anna Regina Multilateral School provide physical education? I don’t understand why not because Anna Regina Multilateral has sufficient yard space for this subject and after all is a top school for children in Essequibo. Children at that age should be concerned about their fitness and wellness for their future. This subject is written in all the top schools in Georgetown since they carry the space but not at Anna Regina Multilateral. And again this school has the space for sports. Physical education is important since it provides cognitive content and instruction designed to develop motor skills, knowledge and behaviour for physical activity. I hope the government do designed a sports court for P.E. to take place. These children are missing the fun of life. The curriculum should include a wide range of sports such as volleyball, basketball, cricket, tennis etc.,

Sincerely,

Amanda Sawh
