No. #1 All-Stars downed Wales by a 2-0 score when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground.
Following a scoreless first half, the All-Stars unit found the opener in the form of Orlando Lowe, who etched his name on the scorer-sheet in the 66th minute. The result was then sealed six minutes onwards, as Okassie Stewart found the back of the net.
Due to the outcome, the All-Stars outfit climbs onto seven points and moves into fourth place, while the loser remains on two points in seventh position.
Meanwhile, Belle West and Uprising played to a scoreless affair. With the outcome, Belle West remains in third place and moves onto seven points, while Uprising climbs onto a point and remains in ninth place.
On Saturday at the same venue, Uitvlugt dismantled Limitless 6-1. Kevis Fraser recorded a hat-trick in the 10th, 36th, and 75th minutes, while Clem Brotherson tallied a brace in the 38th and 50th minutes. Adding a goal in the 80th minute was Anson Sampson. For the loser, Junior Grant netted in the third minute.
With the results, Uitvlugt climbs onto nine points and moves into the second position, while the loser remains pointless in the cellar.
Similarly, Pouderoyen crushed Crane Rovers 4-0. Matthew Chidume amassed a double in the 17th and 72nd minutes, while Kenneth Opara and Donte McAulay recorded conversions in the 19th and 33rd minutes, respectively.
Due to the win, the Pouderoyen unit climbs onto five points and moves into fifth place. On the other side, Crane Rovers remain on five points but drop to sixth place. The event continues on Saturday at the same venue with another round of matches.
