The New Era Entertainment Futsal Championship will commence tomorrow at the Retrieve Hard Court in Linden.
The event will feature 20 teams competing in an initial group stage format. The other playing dates are: November 1st, 2nd, 8th, 9th, 13th, and 16th, with the final pencilled for the 23rd.
Each participating team will be allowed one ‘guest player’ from outside the community of Linden, while $20,000 will be awarded to each team at the end of the March Past ceremony to aid in their preparation.
The winner of the tournament will pocket $1,000,000, while the loser will receive $500,000, $200,000, and $100,000, respectively, and the corresponding accolade. On the individual side, the Most Valuable Player will ride away with a motorcycle.
The New Amsterdam Strikers are the defending champion after defeating Retrieve United 3-2 in the previous final.
