Global Super League T20
– Australia, Bangladesh, England, Pakistan to be represented
With many questions remaining unanswered, including who is footing the bill for this event, the inaugural Global Super League T20 competition, which will run from November 26th-December 7th, at the National Stadium in Providence, has confirmed the participating teams for season one.
The competing sides, which will feature in an initial group stage format comprising 11 matches, are Amazon Warriors (Guyana), Lahore Qalandars (Pakistan), Victoria (Australia), Hampshire Hawks (England), and Rangpur Riders (Bangladesh). Each edition of the event, which is sanctioned by Cricket West Indies (CWI), will feature different teams, excluding the local Amazon Warriors franchise.
The Amazon Warriors, who are not the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) winner, a label that belongs to the St. Lucia Kings, will open the event against Lahore Qalandars. At the end of the group segment, the top two teams will advance to the final of the championship, which features a prize pool of US$1,000,000.
