Prime Minister Mark Phillips, (fifth from right) who is performing the functions of President, received a courtesy visit on Thursday from the High Commissioner of India to Guyana, Dr Amit Shivkumar Telang (third from right) in relation to the impending visit of India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The meeting was held at the Office of the Prime Minister on Camp Street.
High Commissioner Telang, accompanied by a visiting delegation from India, briefed Prime Minister Phillips on the upcoming visit of Prime Minister Modi.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Phillips spoke of the strong bilateral relations between the two nations.
Chief of Defence Staff of the Guyana Defence Force, Brigadier Omar Khan, joined the Prime Minister for the engagement.
