With the business end of the Courts Optical Pee Wee U11 Schools Football competition firmly underway, four schools will be vying for coveted spots in the final today at the Ministry of Education Ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Proceedings will get underway at 3 pm with West Ruimveldt taking on Enterprise Primary in a match to determine seventh and eighth places after they were both knocked out in the quarter-finals which were played last weekend.

At 4 pm, strong contenders for the title, Marian Academy will clash with defending champions St. Pius Primary in semi-final one. St. Pius who are looking to seal a second consecutive final appearance in two years, are there by virtue of Rosignol Primary being disqualified after it was found that they fielded an over-age player in their 5-0 dismantling of St. Pius last weekend.

Semi-final two, slated for 5 pm, is set to be an exhilarating battle with the two ‘out of town’ schools in a showdown. Santa Rosa (Region 1) have impressed in their maiden outing in the competition while St. John The Baptist (Region 7) have been equally consistent having already bettered their performance from last year where they were knocked out at the quarter-final stage. The winner of this clash could potentially be the new winners of this year’s competition with the quality that they possess, but should St. Pius make it to the final, their experience will surely be an asset.
