As part of the ongoing celebrations for Queen’s College’s 180th anniversary, the Ministry of Health on Friday hosted current and former students for a commemorative plaque-laying ceremony.

This event highlighted the school’s historical connection to the Ministry’s Brickdam location where the institution was based from 1918 to 1951.

A release from the Ministry of Health said that Christopher Belfield, Public Relations Officer for the Queen’s College Old Students Association, emphasised the school’s lasting impact on the medical field, noting that many healthcare professionals trace their secondary education back to QC. He spoke on the essential role that alumni have played in safeguarding public health, as well as in advancing diagnostics, treatment and preventive care.

Minister of Health, Dr Frank Anthony, a Queen’s College alumnus, also shared his reflections on the school’s impressive legacy and its profound contributions to society, the release said.
