ExxonMobil Guyana will serve as the title sponsor for the inaugural Global Super League (GSL), which is scheduled from November 26th-December 7th at the National Stadium in Providence.
This was disclosed by a release from the GSL. According to the correspondence, Chairman of the GSL Sir Clive Lloyd said, “ExxonMobil Guyana has a long history of supporting cricket in Guyana. They are an ideal title sponsor – we appreciate their continued investment in Guyana.”
Meanwhile, ExxonMobil Guyana President Alistair Routledge said, “We are thrilled to deepen our commitment to cricket and the community in Guyana through our partnership with the Global Super League. We look forward to an electrifying series of matches and celebrating the spirit of cricket with fans around the world.”
The competing sides, which will feature in an initial group stage format comprising 11 matches, are Amazon Warriors (Guyana), Lahore Qalandars (Pakistan), Victoria (Australia), Hampshire Hawks (England), and Rangpur Riders (Bangladesh). Each edition of the event, which is sanctioned by Cricket West Indies (CWI), will feature different teams, excluding the local Amazon Warriors franchise.
