GCB National T20 League
The Guyana Cricket Board’s (GCB) National T20 League continued yesterday with the Essequibo Anacondas defeating the Berbice Piranhas by 33 runs at the federation’s La Bonne Intention (LBI) Facility, East Coast Demerara.
Batting first, the Anacondas compiled a challenging 153/7, largely thanks to a swashbuckling 70 from opener Kevon Boodie. While Boodie teed off, the support from the rest of the batters was virtually non-existent, with only Sagar Hathiramani (18) and Antony Adams (16) getting into double digits.
Navindra Latchman was the pick of the Berbice bowlers, capturing 3-27 from his four overs.
In response, the Piranhas limped to 120/9 from their quota of 20 overs as Quentin Sampson and Adams captured three wickets each. Jonathan Rampersaud (36) and Seon Glasgow (22) were the only Piranhas batsmen to offer any sort of resistance.
Sampson ended with 3-24 from his four overs, while Anthony was frugal and captured 3-15 from his four overs.
The competition continues this week with more matches scheduled to be played.
