Unbeaten sides Pele and Riddim Squad recorded hard-fought wins when the Georgetown Football Association Senior Men’s League continued on Saturday evening at the Guyana Football Federation’s (GFF) National Training Centre (NTC) in Providence.

League leader Pele moved one step closer to securing the crown with a 1-0 win over Eastveldt. Orlando Jovell recorded the only conversion of the contest in the 45th minute.

With the result, Pele climbs onto 22 points and extends their lead atop the standings to eight points over the nearest competitor, while Eastveldt drops to seventh place and remains on 10 points.

In a similar manner, Riddim Squad bested the Northern Rangers 2-0. Two goals in the space of as many minutes secured the win. Dorville Stewart opened the scoring as he found the back of the net in the 21st minute.

The result was then sealed in the form of Adrian Kennedy, who etched his name on the score-sheet in the 23rd minute.

Due to the outcome, Riddim Squad move onto 14 points and climb into second place, while the loser remains in the fourth position on 13 points.
