Eon Fagundes, 46, appeared yesterday at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court via Zoom before Magistrate Fabayo Azore, where his attorney, Siand Dhurjon, renewed his application for bail. Fagundes was granted bail totaling $550,000 on charges of firearm and ammunition possession. Specifically, he received $150,000 bail for the firearm components charge, another $150,000 for possession of ammunition, and $350,000 for possession of a firearm without a license.

Fagundes, a clothes vendor residing at Lot 25 Sandy Babb Street, Kitty, Georgetown, was originally arrested on July 24, 2024, after a police operation led to the discovery of numerous firearms and ammunition at his residence. He had previously appeared before Magistrate Clive Nurse at Georgetown Magistrate’s Court #3, where he pleaded not guilty to charges of possession of firearms and ammunition without a licence. Bail was initially denied, and the case was set for disclosure on August 27, 2024.

The arrest followed an intelligence-led operation by the Police on the morning of July 24, 2024. During a search conducted at Fagundes’ residence, law enforcement seized 26 handguns and high-powered rifles, along with a substantial cache of ammunition. As the police arrived, Fagundes was seen exiting a wooden house on the property, carrying a side bag. Inside the bag, officers discovered a Sig Sauer Rifle, a magazine with fourteen 9mm rounds, a Polymore-80 9mm pistol without a serial number, and several other firearms and loaded magazines.
