A twenty-six-year-old man was murdered yesterday afternoon at Mashabo Housing Scheme, Region Two.
Dead is Rayandra Abrams aka Bruce or Saw-Man. He was murdered by a man over a $15,000 debt.
According to Trishon Charles, a barber, yesterday, about 8 am Abrams visited his home and requested a haircut. He said that he and Abrams left and went to one Omar’s house in the said Housing Scheme and were liming. At about 10 am Omar left to go into the backdam to cut wood while the two remained at Omar’s house. He said about 12:30 pm Abrams told him that he was going home. Trishon said he also went home where he had something to eat.
Trishon said he came out back and was walking on the Mashabo Access Road when he saw Abrams and the suspect standing on the western side of the road arguing. The suspect had a black handle knife in his hand and he was threatening to kill Abrams.
Trishon claimed that he told Abrams to go home and Abrams insisted that he was staying. Trishon said the he walked away in a northwestern direction and about 120 feet away he heard Abrams shouting for him. Upon looking, he saw Abrams holding his neck which was bleeding. Trishon said as he rushed towards Abrams, the assailant still with the black handle knife in hand, jumped onto a motorcycle and headed south.
Abrams was rushed to the Suddie Public Hospital where he was pronounced dead on arrival. According to Sonia Abrams, mother of the deceased, her son and the assailant had an ongoing problem over fifteen thousand dollars which the assailant claimed Abrams owed him for the past month.
Abrams’ body is currently at the Suddie mortuary awaiting a post-mortem examination.
