Gulf Warriors brushed aside Ogle Street when Sideline and Frontside battled to a stalemate when the Beterverwagting (BV) Inter-Block Football Championship continued at the community centre ground.
Gulf Warriors downed Ogle Street 2-0. A conversion on either side of halftime settled the encounter. Travis Williams broke the deadlock as he found the back of the net in the 18th minute. The contest was then put to bed in the 70th minute, as Dexter Barker etched his name on the score-sheet.
On the other hand, Sideline and Frontside battled to a 1-1 draw. Jaden Harris recorded the only conversion of the first half for Sideline, as he made his presence felt in the 30th minute. However, Frontside would earn a share of the spoils in the form of Malcolm Wilson, who slotted past the opposing custodian in the 80th minute.
The winner of the tournament will receive $400,000, while the runner-up will walk away with $200,000. The third and fourth place finishers will receive $100,000 and $50,000, respectively. The event continues on Friday at the same venue with another round of matches.
