No word on cops to be charged with abduction

There was no further word from the police yesterday on two cops who are to be charged with abduction.

The case revolves around the abduction and robbery of Aurora Gold Mines supervisor Kevin Fiedtkou.

Efforts by Stabroek News to obtain further information from the Guyana Police Forces’ Public Relations Officer, Stan Gouveia were unsuccessful.

The incident, which took place on October 10, 2024, involved two officers who forced Fiedtkou into a vehicle outside the Giftland Mall. He was subsequently taken to his residence, where he was robbed of over $9.5 million.

Charges have been recommended by the Chambers of the Director of Public Prosecutions. Additionally, police are actively searching for Okeemo Arak Brummell, 29, of Bel Air Springs, who is suspected of participating in the abduction and extortion. Brummell is alleged to have posed as a member of the Special Organized Crime Unit (SOCU), along with two others, in detaining Fiedtkou.
