Pouderoyen and Eagles recorded comfortable wins when the West Demerara Football Association Senior Men’s League continued at the Uitvlugt Community Centre ground.
Pouderoyen crushed Wales by a 6-0 score. The contest was effectively over at the end of the first half, as Pouderoyen romped to a 4-0 advantage. Stephon Jupiter, the scorer of an eventual helmet trick, recorded a first half hat-trick to lead the rout.
Jupiter opened the score with a ninth-minute effort before doubling his side’s advantage as he found the back of the net in the 25th minute. The hat-trick quickly followed as he etched his name on the score-sheet in the 32nd minute.
The perfect first stanza was then completed in the form of Matthew Chidume, who scored four minutes onward. The resumption of play resulted in Darrel Abrams blasting past the custodian in the 56th minute to make it 5-0. The score was then sealed in the 70th minute as Stephon Jupiter scored to secure his haul.
Due to the win, the Pouderoyen unit climbs onto nine points and moves into second place. On the other side, Wales remain in eighth position on two points.
In similar manner, the Eagles unit clawed past Limitless FC 4-0. Following a scoreless first half, Eagles opened the scoring in the form of Colvor Narin, who scored in the 46th minute. Two goals in the space of a minute effectively sealed the result as the Eagles soared to a 3-0 advantage.
Jahalla Lowton doubled their advantage following a 58th-minute conversion, before Telbert Baptiste netted the first of an eventual double with a conversion moments later. Baptiste completed the result and his brace with a 78th-minute strike.
With the results, the Eagles soar into seventh place on four points while the loser remains pointless in the cellar.
