A fire of unknown origin broke out on Thursday afternoon at Co-op Crescent in McKenzie, Linden.  In a press release, the Guyana Fire Service (GFS) said they received a call at 2:14 PM, and two fire units were dispatched to the location. Upon arrival, the GFS said that firefighters discovered a small stall engulfed in flames.

The stall, according to the GFS, was reportedly used for a clothing business. Quick action by the GFS firefighters brought the blaze under control, preventing any damage to nearby structures. Initial investigation suggest that the fire may have been caused by unattended garbage that was burning in the vicinity.
