(Trinidad Guardian) A father and son were killed, and another son was fighting for his life at hospital last night, after gunmen attacked the relatives in Valencia on Wednesday night.

Police have identified the victims as Harry Ramdhanie, 54, and his 18-year-old son Aleem Ramdhanie.

Officers at the Valencia Police Post said they received a report of a shooting at Lewis Lane, Plantation Road, Valencia, at 10 pm.

When officers responded, they found Harry Ramdhanie in front of his doorway already dead, and his sons, Aleem and Saleem, 20, suffering from gunshot wounds to the head but showing signs of life.

The two siblings were rushed to the Sangre Grande General Hospital, where Aleem was pronounced dead at 1.05 am yesterday. Saleem remained in critical condition up to last night. Crime scene investigators recovered 24 spent shells of different calibres at the scene.

Man killed in Maloney

In an unrelated incident, police are also investigating the murder of Jamarie “Breddo” Sylvester at Maloney Gardens yesterday.

According to police, officers responded to a report of loud explosions at Building 20 at 12.35 am. There, they found Sylvester’s body with multiple gunshot wounds.

Police said Sylvester was from the Sea Lots, Port-of-Spain. From information they got, they believe the killing may be gang-related, as reports suggest Sylvester had been warned about entering the area due to being from a rival gang. Sylvester was reportedly visiting a friend in the apartment complex when he was killed.

Investigations are ongoing.

Meanwhile, police are also probing the circumstances surrounding the death of Renory Phillip, 52, of Mamoral Valley Road, Mamoral, on Wednesday.

According to police reports, at 9.30 am, Robert Phillip, of Main Road, Mamoral, went to check on Renory, his brother, after not hearing from him. Upon arrival, he found his brother dead on the floor inside his house. Phillip was last seen on October 27.
