CWI Regional Super50

Guyana Harpy Eagles opener Matthew Nandu’s maiden first-class 50-over century was the highlight of what would turn out to be a rained-out day at the University of West Indies (UWI) Sports and Physical Education Centre in Trinidad yesterday.

He notched up an impressive 116, leading the Guyana Harpy Eagles to a solid 271-7 in their reduced 45-over innings against the Combined Campuses and Colleges (CCC).

Nial Smith recorded the only dismissal of the CCC innings before the rain came as he bowled Kamil Pooran for 20.

Skipper Tevin Imlach (51) made it back to back half-centuries, while Kemol Savory (50 not out) also got to a half-century to push the total beyond 250.

Just as CCC got to 32-1 (6.5 overs) in their run-chase, the heavens opened up and relentless rain forced the match officials to declare the fixture a no-result. This means that both teams are both winless after two matches in the CG United Super50 Cup thus far.

Summary:

Guyana Harpy Eagles 271-7 from 45 overs (Matthew Nandu 116, Tevin Imlach 51, Kemol Savory 50*; Mikkel Govia 4-42, Abhijai Mansingh 2-45). CCC 32-1 from 6.5 overs (Kamil Pooran 20; Nial Smith 1-28)
