Jamie Ghanie appeared yesterday before Acting Chief Magistrate Faith McGusty at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court charged with the murder of Guyana Defence force rank Rondel Douglas during a robbery on June 7, 2023, in North Ruimveldt.
Ghanie was formally read the charge but was not required to enter a plea. He was remanded to prison, with his next court appearance scheduled for November 22, 2024, for a status report. A police bulletin was issued for Ghanie in June last year.
It was reported that during the robbery Douglas’ attackers escaped with his car.
