Defending champion Chase Academy, as well as Dolphin Secondary and Waramuri, amassed victories to maintain their perfect records when the Republic Bank U-18 Schools Football continued yesterday at the Ministry of Education ground, Carifesta Avenue.

Chase Academy brushed aside South Ruimveldt 4-0. Bryan Wharton tallied a hat-trick in the 13th, 20th, and 53rd minutes, while Omar Sam scored in the 56th minute.

Likewise, Dolphin thrashed East Ruimveldt 7-0. Jamal Williams tallied a hat-trick in the 10th, 65th, and 68th minutes, while Shaquille Dalrymple bagged a double in the 33rd and 42nd minutes, and Collin David recorded a brace in the 45th and 50th minutes.

Meanwhile, Waramuri bested President’s College 3-1. Rondell Peters registered a double in the 30th and 39th following a Shakeel Marks strike in the 26th minute. For the loser, Michael Joseph scored in the sixth minute.

On the other hand, Bartica and West Ruimveldt played to a 1-1 stalemate. Elijah Sattaur scored in the ninth minute for West Ruimveldt, only for Bartica to equalise in the form of Billy Smith in the 34th minute.

The winners of the league will bag $300,000 towards a school project along with a trophy and medals, while the runners-up will receive $200,000, a trophy, and medals as well. Third-place finishers will be compensated for their effort with $150,000 along with a trophy and medals.

Additionally, there will be individual incentives with accolades for the highest goal scorer and best goalkeeper, while the most disciplined team will also be rewarded for their behaviour. The tournament continues on Sunday at the same venue with another round of matches.
