The 2024 edition of the Guyana Open Golf tournament,

Avinash Persaud who won the Brava Guyana Open for a 13th time, goes for a putt in this photo

sponsored by Brava, attracted an unprecedented 104 golfers from countries including the United States, Canada, Barbados, Trinidad, Fiji, Mexico and Suriname among others. 

At the end of the two-day competition on Sunday, it was two Guyanese who stood tall to collect their dues after outperforming and outlasting all comers. Avinash Persaud won the Male category for a record 13th time while Christine Sukhram copped the distaff title.

Despite the competition being Guyana’s premier golf event, up to press time last evening, the official results were yet to be released by the club although the overall winners were already determined on Sunday evening.
