-following ‘internal report’
The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) yesterday announced that all-rounder Kevin Sinclair will no longer take part in the ongoing Cricket West Indies (CWI) Regional Super50 competition.
According to a statement from the GCB, the decision to remove Sinclair from the Harpy Eagles setup was taken after an internal report from management.
The statement in its entirety reads: “The Guyana Cricket Board (GCB) announces a necessary squad adjustment for the ongoing CG United Super50 Tournament.
Following an internal report from the Guyana Harpy Eagles management, it has been decided that Kevin Sinclair will no longer be participating in this year’s competition. Junior Sinclair will be the replacement for Kevin Sinclair. Sinclair’s arrival is expected ahead of the team’s next match, and we look forward to seeing his contribution on the field”.
The Harpy Eagles are winless from three games thus far having conceded two defeats to go with an abandoned match due to rain. In the two games, Sinclair picked up three wickets for 92 runs and had meagre returns with the bat, with scores of 14 and 0.
Guyana’s next match, slated for today, is an important must-win fixture against the Leeward Islands Hurricanes at the Brian Lara Cricket Academy in Tarouba.
